Learning Enterprises is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to expanding global horizons through international service teaching. Learning Enterprises has been offering volunteers a once in a lifetime opportunity to teach English abroad since the organization was founded in 1992.
In 1991, Adam Tolnay, the founder of Learning Enterprises, spent a semester of his sophomore year of college working in Hungary. Having judged during his trip that there was a demand for English instruction in the newly opened eastern bloc, he returned to the United States with the idea of starting an exchange program.
Our volunteers give their time, expertise, and enthusiasm to a community desiring their skills, and our host communities welcome volunteers into their homes and give them the invaluable opportunity to experience a new culture first hand.
These mutually beneficial relationships are the cornerstone of our organization, and as such, we strive to ensure we are facilitating meaningful opportunities for all.See what our volunteers, host families, and students have to say about Learning Enterprises!
For many of our volunteers, their summers with their students and host families are life-changing. After the opportunity to experience a new culture through Learning Enterprises, volunteers fall in love with the culture, education, or both!
