Meet your Program Director, Malia!

Malia is excited to return to LE as the Brazil Program Director! After volunteering during PY19, she knew she wanted to continue her involvement with the organization; she loved the cross-cultural experience she shared with her host community in Brazil and wanted to help create a similar enjoyable experience for future volunteers.

Malia holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Health and certification in Spanish and International Development from the University of Maryland. She currently works in Spain as an English Language Assistant with the Ministry of Education. In her free time she enjoys traveling, learning languages and watching documentaries.

She cannot wait to make this an amazing and valuable experience.  She was a volunteer for Mauritius PY21, but was unable to go in person due to COVID-19 and taught virtually.
